Guest Reviews of Auberge du Val, St Saviour, Guernsey

'A great break'
"We spent four nights here with friends. We thoroughly enjoyed the large clean rooms, and the freshly prepared breakfasts. We dined here on the last night, and the food was imaginative, top quality and good value for money. There is a very pleasant lounge which we could use in the evenings. We would definitely go back. despite giving our arrival time in advance, we had to wail some time for someone to let us in, otherwise the service was friendly and helpful."

'Beautiful Surroundings, excellent food'
"I recommend this hotel if you want to be away from it all in a small, family run place. The food in the restaurant was excellent, and the room was quaint and nicely decorated. My only minor gripe was that we were in a room directly above the bar / restaurant, and as such were kept up until 12:45am by noisy guests downstairs, so if you want an early night you may want to mention this when requesting a room. Overall, recommended as somewhere that shows off the charm that can be found on Guernsey,"

'Just what the Doctor ordered'
"We were hoping to have a couple of days break where we could chill out. The hotel itself was in a tranquil setting, the room was spacious yet cosy and the restaurant was first class. Even on the Saturday when the restaurant was busy, it had no affect on the quietness of the room. There were a couple of very minor things such as the bathroom door sticking slightly as it closed but these were easily made up for by all of the other positives. The Manager/Owner could not have been more helpful and friendly. We would not hesitate to go again."

'Thanks for a comfortable stay'
"Hotel is in a superb position for a peaceful holiday. Room was comfortable but somewhat dark without artificial light.
Food at the one evening meal we had was superb. For Breakfast we would have preferred options of fruit as an alternative to cereals and of rolls/croissants as an alternative to toast."

'September break'
"Staff very good and helpful. Quality of food at dinner very good and reasonably priced. Breakfasts rather limited choice. Some directions to find the hotel would be useful, i.e. send a map with it marked on when booked. Manager helpful but limited in local knowledge."

'I'd return to this hotel'
"This hotel is tucked away but worth hunting out. It is very reasonably priced, possibly because of the location. Room, bathroom, clean; beds comfortable; staff helpful. We had drinks (bit pricey) even though the bar was closed on the night we stayed. Cooked breakfast was enjoyable but could have been more of it."

'An excellent stay indeed!'
"I found this accomadation on the Internet, knowing nothing about it before. I have to say that everything was "at the top" at Auberge du Val's: welcome, room and bathroom, service, dinner, breakfast... We had a wonderful noiseless night in a very comfortable bed. I recommend this spot without any hesitation. I'm from France, sorry for my poor english!"
